Dr. Dino R. Daal, M.S., DBA is a distinguished tourism and hospitality expert with over three decades of experience in strategic tourism planning, sustainable destination development, and academic leadership. He currently serves as Lead Consultant and co-author of the Strategic Tourism Destination Development Plan (2023–2026), and holds dual academic roles as Associate Program Director and Research Coordinator of the International Hospitality & Tourism Management program at SEF/UoC.
Dr. Daal has a robust background in tourism policy, having served over 16 years in senior roles at the Curaçao Tourist Board, including Director of Product Development and Cruise Tourism. He spearheaded strategic initiatives in sustainable tourism and marketing and played a pivotal role in the development of tourism infrastructure and cruise offerings for Curaçao.
Academically, Dr. Daal holds a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from Inter Continental University of Curaçao in collaboration with Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, a Master of Science in Marketing and Broadcast Economics from Boston University, and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of the Netherlands Antilles. He is a peer reviewer for the Tourism Management Journal and a longstanding thesis advisor and lecturer, contributing to hospitality and tourism education for over 25 years at institutions including UoC, ICUC, and the University of Sint Maarten.
His research interests include sustainable tourism, experiential marketing, and tourism’s impact on quality of life. He has contributed to regional tourism literature and spoken at numerous international and local conferences.
