Dr. Robertico Croes is Professor Emeritus at the University of Central Florida’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management and a globally recognized authority on tourism economics, well-being, and development in small island states.
His research spans the Caribbean, Latin America, Africa, and the Mediterranean, with a focus on aligning tourism with human dignity and inclusion.
Dr. Croes has authored over 150 scholarly publications and seven books, including A Journey to Happiness, and has advised national governments, UN agencies, and development organizations.
His work bridges the gap between economic impact and lived experience, emphasizing empathy, agency, and belonging as foundations for authentic tourism futures.
