Fábia Trentin

Fábia Trentin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Tourism at the Federal Fluminense University (UFF), Brazil, and currently serves as Director of Tourism for the City of Niterói.

She teaches in the Bachelor's in Tourism and in the Graduate Program in Tourism (PPGTUR/UFF). She is coordinator of the Laboratory for Policy, Governance and Tourism (LabPGTUR) and is the Focal Point for the UNESCO Chair in Creative Economy and Public Policy at UFF.

Professor Trentin holds a Ph.D. in Tourism, Leisure and Culture from the University of Coimbra, Portugal, with research on tourism policy and governance in destinations in the State of Rio de Janeiro. She holds a Master's in Hospitality from Anhembi Morumbi University and a Master's in Tourism: Planning and Management from the Ibero-American University Center, as well as a specialization in Tourism and Hospitality Administration and MBAs in Municipal Public Management and in Tourism, Planning, Management and Marketing. At UFF, she has held academic leadership roles, including Head of the Department of Tourism.

Her work focuses on public tourism policy, governance, planning, territorial development, sustainability, and the creative economy. She coordinates research and outreach projects on tourism governance, innovation, professional qualification and tourism development, including Niterói Essencial, Rotas Criativas, and the RJ+10 Strategic Tourism Plan. She is author and co-author of articles, books and chapters published in Brazil and abroad, with a focus on public policy, governance, planning and territorial development of tourism.

Ricardo Ricci Uvinha is Full Professor at the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil. He currently serves as a Technical Advisor to the Office of the Vice-Rector for Culture and University Extension (PRCEU/USP). He is a permanent faculty member and doctoral supervisor in the Graduate Programs in Tourism and in Physical Activity Sciences at USP, and a Postdoctoral Supervisor at the Institute of Advanced Studies (IEA/USP).

Professor Uvinha holds Bachelor's and Teaching degrees in Physical Education, a Master's degree from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), a PhD from the University of São Paulo (USP), a postdoctoral fellowship from Griffith University (Australia). He served as Director of the School of Arts, Sciences and Humanities (EACH/USP) from 2022 to 2026. His previous leadership positions include President of the Brazilian Association for Research and Graduate Studies in Leisure (ANPEL) and Vice-President of the World Leisure Organization (WLO).

He currently leads the Interdisciplinary Leisure Studies Research Group (GIEL/USP/CNPq), coordinates the World Leisure Centre of Excellence (WLCE-Brazil), serves as President of the World Leisure Academy (WLA), and is Secretary General of the BRICS Council of Exercise and Sport Science (BRICSCESS). His research focuses on leisure studies, tourism, sport tourism, event management, and public policies for leisure. Among his distinctions are the George Torkildsen Literary Award from the World Leisure Organization, the USP Excellence in Teaching Award, and the ANPTUR Distinguished Researcher Award.
